Arsenal Gets New No.10 Ahead Of Coming Season

Mesut Ozil has been handed the number 10 Jersey for Arsenal.

The playmaker replaces Jack Wilshere as the Gunners new no.10. Wilshere decided to call time on his career with Arsenal after Unai Emery failed to give him assurances over his place in the first team of the squad.

Since joining from Real Madrid in a record deal in 2013, Ozil has been a mainstay in the middle of the pack for the Gunners. Although Arsenal have changed managers, it is widely claimed Ozil is one of the players Emery looks to build his team around.

Over his five year spell with Arsenal, Ozil has divided fans and pundit over his quality – a wide section have criticised him while other think his form has been affected by the quality of players he plays with. He has scored 37 goals and provided 71 assists, leading the Gunners to three FA Cups with a community Shield.

Supporters have already bought the former Ozil shirt but they will be replacement on demands of the purchasers, per Arsenal.

Ozil could not save Germany from being knocked out of the World Cup but it will be interesting to see how Unai Emery utilises the player.

The Germany international took to his Instagram page to reveal the report.

Ozil signed a contract extension with Arsenal last summer now earning £350,000-per-week.

The Gunners finished sixth on the Premier league log last season but Emery will be looking to bring back the glory days for the club.
