Chelsea Ready To Complete Transfer Of World Cup Winner In January
Chelsea are set to loosen their grips on midfielder Cesc Fabregas when the year turns. Fabregas, who was part of Chelsea’s brilliant and high-flying 2016-2017 campaign under former boss Antonio Conte, is now set to leave for AC Milan.
Reports in Italy have suggested that the Milan outfit have meted out plans to sign the midfielder, including former United and Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Furthermore, a two-and-a-half year deal is said to be in the bag for the midfielder, whose exit has been tipped to happen in January.
The Spaniard has played fewer games under Maurizio Sarri this season and talks to offload the former Arsenal man is on Chelsea’s cards, as they already have enough options in their midfield berths.
Fabregas is allowed to sign a pre-contract with other clubs, but the Spaniard has knocked back the idea and says he will see out his contract.
He has yet to speak to suitors, however Milan’s director and former club legend Paolo Maldini has confirmed his club are interested in the veteran midfielder and are considering a January move for the 31-year-old.
Milan want to be in the top four at the end of the season and Maldini believes Fabregas and Zlatan Ibrahimovic can get them there.
