Coach Wants EPL Giants To Beat Man United In Race To Land Inter Milan Star
Italian manager Maurizio Sarri wants Chelsea to land Serie A side Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar ahead of league rivals Manchester United, according to reports.
The Blues bolstered Sarri’s options in the summer window with the signings of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined in a club-record deal.
But the 59-year-old tactician is desperate to strengthen his options in the January transfer market.
According to tabloid newspaper The Sun, Sarri is ‘not satisfied’ with his options in the heart of the defence and wants Milan to be signed as the start of his overhaul.
But Chelsea will face rivalry from Manchester United, as Jose Mourinho is also targeting the highly-rated Slovakia international as a player who can improve his side’s defence.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, are fully aware of the interest in Slovak star and are desperate for the 23-year-old star to sign a new contract.
But The Sun reports that Skriniar is ‘frustrated’ that Nerazzurri are refusing to meet his wage demands. Milan is in his second season with his side after he was signed from Sampdoria for £15.8 million last year.
