Gonzola Higuain To Chelsea Agreed, €60m Deal On Card For Striker
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign Argentina goal poacher Gonzola Higuain, according to reports.
The Blues are widely expected to bolster their squad even though they are yet decide on their manager – Conte, as reported, will be fired by the Blues and they remain locked in talks with his compatriot Maurizio Sarri over a potential deal.
While Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have recorded success in the transfer window, the Blues have been only linked with the signing of players. However, there is a breakthrough in sight if reports making the rounds is anything to go by.
According to the Metro who cited a report from Sport Mediaset, Chelsea have agreed a deal with the Old Lady to sign Higuain and the deal will be completed as soon as Sarri takes over the reins of the London club. They claim the Blues have agreed to pay the €60 million (£53m) valuation of the 30-year-old star.
There have been conflicting reports over a proposed move for Sarri – nonetheless, the same report claims the deal is expected to go through, with new signings expected at the club too.
The imminent confirmation of the deal for Higuain could mean the end of the spell of Alvaro Morata, who has been heavily linked with a return to the Turin with Juventus.
Morata drew heavy criticism to himself following his near-barren season with Chelsea last season and his divided opinion over his quality among the fans of the club. He is a much more younger player and it will be surprising to see Chelsea offload him for Higuain who is entering the twilight of his career.
