Manager Pours Cold Water On Possible Deal With Liverpool For Youngster
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has denied states that his side will complete the landing of Dominic Solanke on a season-long loan.
For a while, the promising Reds striker has been linked with a transfer to Scotland, as Gerrard continues to assess the zones of his squad that need strengthening.
However, former Liverpool player was quick to quieten speculation connecting Solanke with a move to Ibrox, as he told Rangers TV: “It’s speculation, it’s just speculation.”
Solanke seems to have found himself low down in the pecking order at Reds as the new season approaches, with Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge now available to German manager Jurgen Klopp.
The summer transfer window for clubs across the United Kingdom is still open, however, and the Reds could be tempted to seek a temporary transfer away for Solanke should the chance present itself.
Solanke was afforded chances on a sporadic basis the previous season but failed to truly convince in his debut season at Liverpool.
The last season, in all competitions, the 20-year-old star made appearances, netted goals and provided assists.
