There is nothing wrong with being AMBITIOUS, and that is the factor that prompted Alexis Sanchez to jump ship from the Emirates to Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Arsenal star Hector Bellerin has revealed that the Chile international was a little demanding while he was at the Emirates, according to reports.
Sanchez was dubbed as a contract rebel for failing to sign a contract extension with Arsenal as they could not fulfill his ambition of winning major trophies, and their quest to win trophies this season has gone down the drains but the League and Europa Cup.
After being heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City in the summer, Sanchez ended up at the fortress of Old Trafford in the swap deal that saw Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the Emirates.
The deal was reported to have brought happiness both ways to Sanchez and Mkhitaryan, who both claimed to be fulfilling their dreams of playing for their new Clubs.
Bellerin has been accused of being snobbish to Sanchez, allegedly evidenced by his failure to celebrate when the Chilean star scored a goal for Arsenal against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Bellerin spoke at the Oxford Union where he revealed what it was like playing along Sanchez and he debunk any accusation meted on him.
“Alexis is an amazing player,” Bellerin said. “One of the best in the Premier League for sure but he is a player who always wants to win.
“He demands from everyone, sometimes it can be too much. The great thing is he wants to win, to give 100 per cent.
“This season maybe things weren’t going as well for him but I truly believe he was giving 100 per cent.
There was one game against Crystal Palace. We celebrated a goal and some of the players went I stayed back, I was talking to Calum Chambers because there was some tactical stuff. For me that was more important than celebrating the goal.”
Sanchez has been doing greatly at Manchester United but he failed to salvage any points for the Gunner against Tottenham.
