Man United Confirm The Arrival Of Sensational Duo
Joel Pereira and Matty Willock have both returned to Manchester United after their loan contracts ran out.
Both players have had disappointing loans spells at clubs Vitoria Setubal and St Mirren.
Pereira was between the sticks at Portuguese outfit Setubal, making ten appearances for the European side and just three for United’s first team.
Willock, on the other hand, is a midfielder for St Mirren, but saw his loan spell cut, unfortunately, by Mirren.
Willock racked up 13 appearances under his belt at the club, but unlike Pereira, he has yet to make a start in United’s senior team.
Pereira, 22, has been capped 21 times for Portugal’s under-21 team, but has yet to break into their senior squad.
Their recalls is unlikely to change anything in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team. Willock wouldn’t be able to last in a fight for a slot in United’s midfield that’s hugely packed with the likes of: Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, and Nemanja Matic, to name a few.
And if Pereira is thinking of stealing a chance to get called back into the senior team, it could prove very tough for the youngster.
It is very likely United will farm both players out again, if not this month, in the summer.
