Defender All Smiles After Completing Chelsea Move
English and Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter has successful joined Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem on a season long loan move, according to reports.
The rising star joined the youth set-up of Chelsea only when he was nine and he’s spent his entire footballing career at the club barring a season at Sutton United. Following his development but inability to break into the senior team of Chelsea, he has been on several loan spells with the latest being at Sunderland last season.
Nonetheless, the player was said to be eager to taste football outside of Europe and the lure of playing in the Europa League attracted Vitesse to him. The boss of Vitesse Leonid Slutsky played a huge role in the player, who had offers from Championship clubs. Slutsky was in charge of Hull at the start of last season, where he worked with some of Chelsea youth players.
Vitesse Arnhem confirmed the deal for the player on their official twitter handle.
Chelsea have had up to 24 players on loan at the Dutch club before Clarke-Salter made the move, and they have kept there relationship with Chelsea. Bertrand Traoré, Lewis Baker, Dominic Solanke and even Nemanja Matic, are among the Chelsea players who have had a stint with the side.
We hope to see him soon for the senior team of the Blues – Good luck, Jake!
