Premier League Rivals End Reported Interest In Liverpool £90,000-A-Week Star
The Premier League side Newcastle United reportedly no longer interested in re-landing the Dutch star Georginio Wijnaldum this summer amid speculation that the star could leave Liverpool ahead of the new campaign, according to reports from British media.
Earlier this week, it was stated that the summer arrivals of Naby Keita (former RB Leipzig midfielder) and Fabinho (former AS Monaco player) at Liverpool has led to Georginio considering his future at Anfield side.
The Netherlands international joined Newcastle United from the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven back in 2015 and netted 11 Premier League goals for the Magpies throughout the 2015-16 term before moving on to league rivals Liverpool.
Newcastle United have been connected with another approach for the 27-year-old star, but according to the British daily newspaper The Evening Chronicle, Rafael Benitez’s side are not keen on bringing him back to St James’s Park.
The last season, in all competitions (Premier League, Champions League, Champions League Qualification, EFL Cup, FA Cup) Georginio Wijnaldum made 50 appearances, netted 2 goals and provided 4 assists.
Wijnaldum has made close to 100 matches for Liverpool over the last two seasons.
