Versatile Midfielder All Smiles After Completing Chelsea Switch
Chelsea youngster Lewis Baker has reportedly joined Leeds United on a season-long loan deal.
He was one of the many youngsters that started their playing career with Chelsea – he joined the West London club as a nine-year old and grew up the ladder to make his first professional debut for the Blues as a substitute against Deby County in 2014.
He has been on various loan spells since 2015 with stints at MK Dons, Vitesse Arnhem and Middlesbrough. His spell at Vitesse was the most memorable where he helped the Dutch side to win the Dutch Cup in 2016/17 season.
Capable of playing in various midfield positions, Baker is one of the academy product of the Blues that is highly rated. Although many expects that he should have started fighting for a place in the star-studded midfield of the Blues, he will continue to develop and prove his mettle at Elland Road under the auspices of their new manager Marcelo Bielsa.
He has also had cameos for the age groups of England and he’s fondly remembered for winning the highest goal scorer award for the Toulon Tournament for the U21 side in 2016.
We wish him goodluck.
