Man United On The Brink Of Sealing One More Transfer, Coach Reveal
Manchester United rising star midfielder Matty Willock is on the cusp of joining Scottish league side St Mirren, this is according to reports.
Willock started out his playing career with Arsenal like his brothers and was released by the London club when he was 15. He had trials at Reading and Sunderland before Manchester United snapped him up in 2011.
He ascended the ranks of Man United youth set-up but has been unable to impress Jose Mourinho enough. He’s had cameos on the bench for the senior team of United during the 2016–17 season.
However, United offered him a two-year contract last summer before Dutch side FC Utrecht. He subsequently spent the second half of last season on loan at St Johnstone.
Confirm their interest in the player, the manager of St Mirren Alan Stubbs reveals he’s hopeful his side will thumb The Perth Saints to the signing of the Man United star.
“We are not in a position to say that it is done,” Stubbs said about Willock’s impending move, per BBC.
“But we are very, very hopeful that Matty will be here very soon and we can get the paperwork done.”
As a youngster, you need to be exceptionally good to convince Jose Mourinho to be in his team. For Willock, we hope he comes good sooner.
